Cheap e-liquids are in great abundance these days, but are they worth the savings or are vapers better off going with a higher grade of juice for their vaping devices? While some don’t mind taking a gamble, our advice is to stay away from the cheap vape juices on the market and to instead seek out high-quality liquids. The reason for doing so may surprise you.
Why You Should Vape Only Premium E-Liquid
Saving money is one thing, however, doing so at the possible expense of your health just isn’t worth it. A study carried out in Australia not too long ago found that some e-juices were contaminated with an acutely toxic chemical called 2-chlorophenol, which is commonly found in modern disinfectants, herbicides, and pesticides. Does that sound like something that you want in your vape?
The researchers also found that some vape liquids marked as nicotine-free turned out to have nicotine in them. If there’s nicotine in nicotine-free vape juices, what else might be in there that shouldn’t?
To avoid contaminated e-liquids, we recommend that vapers always stick to premium juices like those made in countries with sound requirements for manufacturing e-liquid. In the United Kingdom, vape juice manufacturers are required to follow strict regulations outlined in the Tobacco Products Directive (TPD). When you buy e-liquid that’s made in the UK, you know what you’re getting to a large extent and it’s not the cheap juice. While the price may be higher than the cheap liquids floating around, it’s worth paying more to avoid contaminated liquid.
Vape juice that’s made in a cleanroom and tested thoroughly to ensure that it’s free of contaminants is a step in the right direction, but even then there’s still room for ingredients that are less than ideal to be used. This is why the right vape juice for any vaper is a vape juice that’s made using only high-grade ingredients.
You want pharmaceutical-grade nicotine. You want high-quality ingredients. What you definitely don’t want are flavourings that are potentially dangerous and contaminants that simply should not be there.
So again, our advice is to spend your money where it counts and that’s on high-quality vape liquid.
What TPD Means For E-Liquid
TPD e-liquid is produced to standards that are intended to ensure the safety and quality of the product. Containers used to store the liquid when sold to consumers, such as bottles, must be child-resistant and tamper-evident. Certain ingredients such as colourings, taurine, and caffeine are banned. There are more regulations but you get the point and the point is that TPD compliant e-liquids are manufactured to strict rules that exist to protect consumers and in turn ensure a level of quality that is not always found.
So while it is possible to buy cheap e-liquids manufactured in countries like China, it is not always advisable. While many countries are capable of producing high-quality e-liquids, this does not mean that they always do. It’s best, in our opinion, to stick to e-liquid made in countries where you know there are strict requirements for how it’s manufactured.
